Simen Østensen and Julia Tikhonova win the Marcialonga

Marcialonga di Fiemme e Fassa in “Viking” hands with a trio of Norwegians on the men's podium, and three more to follow. Simen Østensen won his first Marcialonga of his career today. In the women's race, Russian Julia Tikhonova.
A thin veil of snow that fell this morning on the Dolomite valleys of Fiemme and Fassa welcomed the 7,000 competitors (out of 7,800 registered) for the 70 km or 45 km Marcialonga Light.
Sunshine, clear skies, and pleasant winter temperatures accompanied Marcialonga , which also saw the participation of two champions, Silvio Fauner and Pietro Piller Cottrer, "arm in arm" for 70 km of absolute celebration – as they themselves commented at the finish line – experienced with the spirit of true "bison", starting among the last, without too much stress from time trials or rankings.
