Marcialonga, the story continues…

Another great celebration, a Marcialonga blessed by a dusting of fresh snow that fell overnight on the 70-kilometer that winds through the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys, an unrivaled competition with the participation of athletes from 32 countries around the world.

Norway 's solo race was won by Tore Bjoerseth Berdal (in 3 hours 5 minutes and 52 seconds) , who got the better of his compatriots Gjerdalen  and Eliassen  (the defending champion) in a particularly hard-fought and exciting edition.

Among the women , Kari Gjeitnes Vikhagen won ahead of Astrid Oeyre Slind and Lina Korsgren. The top Italians were Sara Pellegrini (13th) and Gilberto Panisi (Team Robinson Trentino) in 48th . Former MotoGP rider Marco Melandri also finished .

The Marcialonga story, the non-competitive revival that celebrates the history of cross-country skiing with material dating back to before 1976, was as evocative and well-attended as ever
