Marcialonga 2014, the countdown towards the big day begins

December 16, 2013. Anticipation is growing for the 41st edition of the Marcialonga winter race in the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys (TN) . With exactly two months to go until the start on January 26, the two Trentino valleys are already in the festive mood. And not just because of the looming Christmas season, but also because of the Marcialonga track , which is starting to take shape thanks to recent snowfalls and, above all, the low temperatures that allow for snow production (at least 100,000 cubic meters are expected). The track, now approved, is also a significant success for the Fiemme Territorial Community , which has entrusted the Marcialonga Committee with the preparation, grooming, and maintenance of the track throughout the season. The same thing happens, but in a different form, north of Moena in the municipalities of Soraga and Vigo di Fassa , while the upper part of Fassa (Canazei, Campitello, Mazzin) is managed by a dedicated consortium of the three municipalities. This will allow, especially tourists, to enjoy the prestigious trail... except for a few brief interruptions due to road crossings, starting from Christmas.
