December 8, 2013: The Reggio Emilia Marathon will be eco-sustainable

December 5, 2013. The 18th Reggio Emilia Marathon is approaching , one of the first races to become a zero-impact marathon starting next year . A major eco-friendly event requires everyone's collaboration to minimize the race's impact on the local area; recycling will be provided along the entire race route, and thanks to the "We'll Pick You Up" initiative, which, for the first time in Italy , will transport runners from various cities across the country, environmental pollution caused by road traffic will be significantly reduced. All of this is just the beginning, as the race will earn certification as an eco-sustainable event in 2014 , in the belief that an eco-friendly sport like ours should be the foundation of civilized living.
